October marks the celebration of Latin American Heritage Month. I am offering a special yoga class that honors and shares the unique and dynamic Latinx culture.

The Latin American region is complex, and it is often difficult to encapsulate the diverse identities of the Latinx diaspora in a single definition. For example, Latin America is incredibly linguistically diverse: Spanish (most widespread), Portuguese, French, hundreds of Indigenous languages, English, and others.

The music playlist will be a line-up of Latin American musicians to represent that unique linguistic diaspora.

As my first language is Spanish, my speech-based cues will be a playful alternation between Spanish and English, just to enhance the ambiance, not to cause confusion.

The yoga sequences will be designed with intentional accessibility in mind for all. Dance can take place, as well as a poem or two authored by a Latinx poet.

To enhance the experience, our location will be Visual Arts Brampton, making the art wall exhibitions part of our immersive vibe. Additionally, bring your most colorful yoga garments as an option.

This event welcomes everyone! Whether you carry Latinx Heritage in your heart or come to explore, to support, and to honor it!
